Pat Gill, for example, said in “The Monstrous Years: Teens, Slasher Films, and Families” that slashers set in suburbs “seem to mock white flight to gated communities, in particular the attempts of parents to shield their children from the dangerous influences represented by the city.” (Gill, 2002, pg. 16)

Kate Notes:

I like how it jumps back and forth between these stories fairly rapidly. 15 minutes in and we’ve jumped back and forth like five times. I dig it.

Guys think I’m too smart. Poor Laurie.

Lol Laurie can’t hang. She keeps coughing.

I would never just like strip in a family’s kitchen, especially if I didn’t live there. She’s just like oopsy doodle there go the clothes.

Nobody believes me it’s so hard ot be a young boy in this cruel world.

When Laurie falls over the railing! I have so many nightmares about that type of thing!

Ah, he hoed it shut real good. I know it’s not a hoe, okay. Rake? Fork?

The people that look out their window, turn on the light, turn off the  light. Cold blooded. That was a good pot lob. Hustle Tommy.

The way he rises silently. Fucking scary as shit. She rises and then he rises. The slowest fucking amble there ever was. -> it’s about the inevitability!!! When I was younger my dad told me that’s what he found so scary about the mummy. That monster walks so damn slow, but it will get there. And you can see how It Follows was SO influenced by this.
